Antineoplastic activity of poly(L-lysine) with some ascites tumor cells.
We have found that poly(L-lysine) can be a very effective agent in preventing the growth of Ehrlich ascites tumors in mice. When given optimal doses of poly(L-lysine) (Mr 60 x 10(3)) intraperitoneally for 5 consecutive days, beginning on day 1 after inoculation with Ehrlich ascites cells. White Swiss mice show nearly a 100% remission from subsequent tumor growth. Rechallenge of "cured" animals ...
متن کاملdetection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts
in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...
Enhancement of cytogenetic damage and of antineoplastic effect by caffeine in Ehrlich ascites tumor cells treated with cyclophosphamide in vivo.
Enhanced cytogenetic damage by cyclophosphamide (CP) was observed when Ehrlich ascites tumor cells were exposed in vivo to nontoxic concentrations of caffeine. One h before i.p. injection of 5-bromodeoxyuridine adsorbed to activated charcoal Ehrlich ascites tumor-bearing mice treated i.p. with CP appear to have a dose-dependent increase in sister chromatid exchange rates and cell division delay...
متن کاملAntitumor Activity of Prosopis glandulosa Torr. on Ehrlich Ascites Carcinoma (EAC) Tumor Bearing Mice
The antitumor activity of ethanol extract of Prosopis glandulosa Torr. (EPG) was evaluated against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) tumor model in Swiss albino mice on dose dependent manner. The activity was assessed using survival time, average increase in body weight, hematological parameters and solid tumor volume. Oral administration of EPG at the dose of 100, 200 and 400 mg/Kg, significantl...
